The small mountain which offers a remarkable 360° view over the bay of Cannes was named according to the topography of the land. Raised at the end of the 11th century, the high square tower with bosses which dominates the whole is the oldest building in Cannes and the entire site of Le Suquet was classified by a ministerial decree of December 13, 1921, over a perimeter of one thousand five hundred meters.
